In other news

I finally had a second interview today-one for one of the places that I interviewed with when I was in NC. I was also offered the job. If I'm able to get a car sooner than later, I will be taking the position. It will allow me to finish my Master's and eventually go back to administrative work. Not that my current job wouldn't have allowed for me to complete my Master's but I really had no interest. I still don't but it will be better for me financially and probably emotionally to have that one obstacle out of the way. I still would rather go back to school for Forensic Psychology and I'm sure that I will one of these days.

Just to clarify some crap. I write on here for myself. My writing is me trying to find a healthy way of letting out my emotions without tearing someone's ass apart. The things on my blog are for me-you don't like them, don't look at them. My crafts is something I do to keep myself out of trouble-don't like it, don't look. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. I have mine and have a right to mine. Just like you all do.

Perfect weather

For my last meeting on the island. Rainy, damp, cool. Just what was needed today-fit my mood and basically my experiences. One agency did take me out to lunch and I was extremely grateful. They are a fun bunch and we did get some bonding done.

Progress

I've been meaning to post this picture since Sunday. This is the latest on the gift for my dad. I just have to finish the last bit of cross-stitching then a lot of back stitching. Just wish that I was feeling well enough to concentrate on it. Last night I was vomiting and trying to rest. Today my stomach was still feeling icky and I went home early. Took a nap and have been trying to keep food down.

A Disappointing Day

First, I fell down the stairs in my apartment building and my ass is still hurting. Hope that it's just bruised and nothing is broken.
I only sold 8 out of 54 books today.
Miami is losing big time to the damn Patriots. Just one win guys. Just one win would be nice.
I don't feel good. My stomach doesn't know what is wrong with itself.
I didn't really sleep last night. And when I did, very strange and disturbing dreams.

Just finished the 2nd block of 4 for the gift for my mom. I haven't worked on this project in a while. I'll hopefully get more of it done this week and weekend along with some of the other stuff I'm working on.

That's how many books I sold today. That was almost half of what was posted on ebay. I still don't know what I'm going to do with all the extra books. My friend, Tracy, says to bring them down and we'll have a garage sale. I would be fine with that idea if I didn't have to either mail them or stuff them into a mini-van.

Trying to relax

I'm beginning to realize that I'm driving myself batty in trying to get all of this stuff packed and shipped away. I need to stop and breathe just a tad. If I don't, I'm going to get really angry and really resentful-more than I already am. Even though Scott does deserve some of my anger and resentment, he doesn't deserve the over the top emotional wreckage that I could turn into...remember Jeremy and the daily world wars? No one deserves that...not even Jeremy. So tonight, I'm just going to take it easy. Probably do some crafting and maybe watch a movie.

It's official

I submitted my resignation on Friday. I had to wait until yesterday to make sure that they got it. My bosses are upset-they've been known to place bets on my life-haven't you guys learned anything yet? Some are upset that I'm leaving in general, meanwhile others are upset that I made them lose the bet. Some of my coworkers were surprised-I don't know why since I told them ahead of time that I was looking to leave.
It feels strange to resign from a place that I've been there for the past 6 years. They have seen me at my worst and my best. They've seen me at my craziness (Albany anyone?) and at my sanest (whatever that means). I will certainly miss them and I hope to keep in touch.

I'm back

After a nice flight and a llloooonnnngggggg cab ride, I'm back in the apartment with the kids. It was nice to have Zeit meowing when she saw me and the rest of the kids noticing that I came home. Wish that things could have been left the way I left them or at least asked about but whatever. One more month.
I did get a job offer today. I wonder if they actually called my references!

Vacation is almost over

Just a few more hours and I'll be heading for home. I had another interview today-nailed it but unfortunately for them, they don't offer insurance benefits at this time so.....
I'll still be sending out my applications and resumes out to more places. I would like to get a job at one of the state psych hospitals so we'll see what happens.

I'm still alive

I've made it down here in NC safe and sound. Went and did some touristy stuff yesterday-went to the Museum of Sciene in Raleigh (they call this a city?). Today I had two interviews that I nailed. One wants me to come back for a second interview and the other wants to let me know by the time I leave here if they are going to offer me the position or not. I have a couple more lined up this week but it's looking like it's a go for me to move on down here. I'm missing my kids, even my step/foster child, Zeit. I'm missing Scott but not in an obsessive way-more of a I shouldn't be doing this by myself type-he should understand that. In other news, Jeremy-the infamous ex-husband of mine-and I are kinda talking. No interest in getting back together with him whatsoever. I'm missing Ken-no shocker there. I'm kinda missing my other friends back home in only the it's so much further from them than it used to be. Missing the blog friends. I'll be back soon!

Genesis

Well, I just came back from Giants Stadium and seeing Genesis perform. First the bad...My seat sucked. They started an hour late. There was no opening band. They didn't play a song I wanted them to (not horrible). The people behind me have no concept of what not to do while at a concert. Sorry, but my chair that I am sitting in is NOT your private drum for you to beat on.
Now for the good. They played for 2.5 hours. They played a lot of great music-most I knew. Some of their early stuff I didn't know. The instrumental stuff was awesome. It was nice to see Phil play on the drums. I have seen Phil by himself on tour and he never played the drums as much as he did tonight. Was great to see. Nice to see the men without botox and actually showing their ages...all except Tony-looks the same but with white hair! :)
Now I'm going to stay up since I'm catching an early flight to North Carolina. Not sure if I'll be able to blog while I'm gone. I do have 4 interviews lined up so I'm feeling a little hopeful. Plus in about 8 hours, I get to play with a puppy.

Tonight

I packed for my trip to North Carolina tonight instead of tomorrow since I'm going to see Genesis in concert. Had to figure out interview clothes. It's been over six years since I last had an interview, even longer for a real one.
I worked a little on the gift for my cousin. I know that I'm going to bring something crafty to do but I'm not sure what. I found a local craft store that I'm going to drag my friend to.

Stupid people

It's amazing how much lack of respect goes on in this world. Questions enter my head and then I just shake my head side and side, trying to understand the stupidness of people. Why do you talk to people who hurt you so much? Why do friends become friends with them? Why do you throw the best thing that has happened to you in a really long time? Why do you wear stuff that are just so far out there? Why do you ignore the feelings of someone who is so close to you? Why do you acquire so much crap?

Today's progress

I worked a little on the second square for the gift for my mom. Starting to get a blister on my thumb-not sure if it's the yarn and needle that I'm working with on the plastic canvas. Oh well. No progress picture taken.
To answer my friend Tricia's question about where do I come up with the ideas that I do for cross-stitch and I'm assuming the other needlecraft stuff I do...I find kits or projects that remind me of that person. Some I get because I want to do them for myself or for the other person. Sometimes I just pick up something that I like and it eventually finds a home with someone.
As for the puppy pictures that several have commented on...I get them off of Daily Puppy. I don't know the website.

Watched my team lose-damn that Trent Green and his throwing of an interception. At least I did get to see my team play and in fantasy football, I kicked some ass. All thanks to Donovan McNabb and Ronnie Brown.

I worked a little on the plastic canvas gift that I'm making for my mom. Not as much progress as I wanted to make but hey, it's closer to being done than it was a few hours ago.
Feelings of anxiousness continue to rise as I continue to prepare to leave New York. Not a lot of books are selling on Ebay and I'm hopefully going to be able to have Scott assist me this weekend on being them to a used bookstore. Scott and I continue to live in whatever you want to call it. I think that I'm getting more angry as the time to move gets closer. This just wasn't how it was supposed to go down and I just wish that both of us could understand what the hell happened. But hey, that's what has happened and we both have to move on. No matter how hard it is. Luckily, I've been able to see a lot of personal growth in how I'm handling the situation. If Scott was anything like Jeremy, there would just be so much yelling and tension. I'm thankful that even though I'm hurt, sad, and angry, I'm not reacting like I would in the past. I do have my moments but luckily they are few. I think that Scott is very thankful that I'm handling this as well as I have been. He's seen some of my anger towards Jeremy-not a pretty sight and something that I'm not proud of. Like I said, lots of personal growth has been happening.
I'm curious to see how I'm going to react when I finally do put out that last box or bag out the door and hand him the keys.

6 years later

As many of you know, today is the 6-year anniversary of 9/11-the day where two planes hit the World Trade Center-a New York City landmark that is no longer. Several lost their lives. Several more were affected by it. I used to work about 3 blocks away from the WTC. Luckily, I had left that job August 31. I might not be here if I hadn't. I still think back to that day almost every time I'm on the Staten Island Ferry and heading back to Manhattan. I have not been back to the site since that day and probably never will. I feel for the ones who lost their loved ones on that day.

Sigh

Just finished posting some more books on ebay. I hope that more than 9 get sold. That would be a really bad percentage. I have just over 190 posted. At least I'm getting some nice humor watching the Ravens completely fall apart. Hope that they'll get things together to make the game interesting.

Ever have one of those days?

Today was one of those days that I wish that I could just stay in bed. I woke up with my back giving out-not fun. I went to Michael's this morning to get some floss for a present for my mom and the power went out. The store was closed. And they actually had the floss I needed! Then, I'm heading back to my office after a meeting and the bus driver is giving me attitude because I'm told him that the sign for his bus wasn't correct. He did end up apologizing to me after I threatened to call him in. Then my coworker is having a meeting and just too much crap going on. Then a crowded subway platform because the damn kids don't know how to move away from the stairs. I was going to do some stitching tonight but ended up listing some books on ebay and half.com. Instead of stitching, I worked on a friendship bracelet for one of my coworkers. I only got about a third of it since Scott and Matt are jamming with Guitar Hero-80's Rock version. At least they were willing playing Skid Row and Poison for me.

Update

Figure I'll update on my life. Haven't been stitching lately-think that I'm coming down with something or I'm still trying to get over staying up the other night with my friend Ken-haven't done that in a really long time and I'm someone who appreciates sleeping. I have one bookcase sorted out of 5. I'm hoping to get another one done today. We'll see how I feel after work. My current job is fine-the usual-so no new complaints. I only have one interview lined up for NC and now I'm getting a little anxious. I've sent my resume out to about 10 places and only have heard back from 2. I'm just hoping that the Labor Day holiday is the reason for it. Scott and I are still hanging tough with our friendship-something for which I am grateful for. The Royal Family are cute, cute, cute, and cute. All of them seem to be doing okay.

Today is my parents 36th wedding anniversary. Hope that they have a good day traveling back from Iowa. I don't even think that they can imagine that they would have lasted this long together.

Just got home

I went to see one of my best friends last night-Ken. We've been friends for 14 years!!!! He's going through a rough situation and wanted someone to talk so I was happy to come out and see him. Didn't get much sleep since we were talking until 3 or 4 in the morning. What's a real shame is that I haven't seen him in over 2 years.

I've been working on a gift for my cousin-can't post any pictures since she does occasionally read my blog. I've been enjoying making this for her.
