SBQ

Latest SBQ:

Today's SBQ was suggested by Dani
and is:

Have you ever thought of getting a rider on your household insurance
to properly cover your stash (some of us have quite an extensive
stash that an average household policy wouldn't fully cover) in the
case of some sort of damage to your house that would destroy/ruin
charts, fabrics, floss, etc?

-never even considered it. Maybe I should because it seems that my stash just gets larger and larger.

Latest progress

This is what I call the headache project-there is just no way I'm going to get this done in time. I'm still going to submit it to Love Quilts once it's completed-since I think I can finish it in August-especially if I really concentrate on it.

Another cutie

so far, so good

Had my first day yesterday of no crying about the situation with Scott. I'm still trying to understand where it went wrong but I'm trying to hold on. I'm a little peeved that some people haven't been more supportive. Haven't confronted them yet but I'm sure I will. If you offer me to stay with you and help in finding a job, then why don't you respond to my emails?

Cross-stitching is done

Almost Happy Dance time. I finished the bear last night-now I just have the backstitching and border to do and then I'm done.

Interesting

Despite the emotional eating and/or not eating-I've managed to lose 0.5 pound. Could just be water but I'll take anything I can get right now. Just a reminder-I'm posting my food diary in public. The link for it is in my sidebar. I would appreciate any suggestions or comments.

Comments

I have appreciated all of the comments regarding my situation. I've changed it to not allow anonymous posts-let me know who you are so you can be properly thanked.

Latest on bookmark

I made a little progress on the bookmark that I'm making for the Home Sweet Home exchange on a Yahoo Group.

Weekend

The first weekend of being single...I don't like it. I don't feel that I'm strong enough to handle this.
Anyway, I have the pleasure of going into work today. Not sure what will be going on tomorrow.

SBQ

Today's SBQ was suggested by Ish and
is:

Which project (finished or in progress) are you most proud of?
Explain why.

-it's probably the Christmas gift that I made for Scott last year-it was simple and it clearly stated how I feel about him-seems like it was pointless to make now after what's happened.

Back to stitching (updated)

This is the progress on the headache project that I've been working on for Love Quilts. A big congrats to Dani for guessing correctly! The cat probably isn't where you think it will be but you got it!

Looking for a job

Anyone out there want to hire a strong, clinical BA Psych woman part-time? I'm willing to do almost anything. I'm available for dog walker, ghost writing, book reviews and social services.

For me

Confusion

That's the word for the living situation. I could add sad to it. It's strange still living with Scott and things being fairly normal between us with the exception of the fact that we're not romantically together. Basically taking one day, one hour at a time and seeing how it goes.

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

It's over

I'm single again and I'm absolutely miserable about it. I don't understand. Scott, know that you will always have a place in my heart no matter what happens. Second chances are possible. Enough said.

Progress (updated)

Lots of progress done today on this Love Quilts square. I can probably finish this in another day or so. So it's probably the last time for guesses. Dawn guesses correctly.

Weekend time

Not really sure what I'll be doing-definitely some craft stuff. I would like to take advantage of the nicer day today but not sure exactly how. Might try to get some writing done.

This Week's Adopt a Pet (Local)

This guy is Marlowe and he's a Tabby - Grey,Domestic Short Hair-gray

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
ID: Marlowe

Notes: Hello there! I'm Marlowe and I was rescued from a backyard in Brooklyn. I may look like an intense, street-tough guy but looks can be deceiving! I am the gentlest and most loving cat who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you. I am a gentle soul and I'm very fond of other cats. I am approximately 2 years old and I have FIV (a comprimised immune system). But, with a good diet and a loving home, I can live a long and happy life -like any other cat with FIV. I would be a wonderful companion to another FIV cat or as single cat. Won't you please come and meet me? [Marlowe has recently come back after several months in a loving, but temporary foster home, where he did wonderfully. Won't you consider giving him a permanent home?]

This pet is up to date with routine shots.
This pet is already house trained.
This pet has been altered.

He's available through Infinite Hope.

This Week's Adopt a Pet (National)

This adorable little guy is Custard and he's a Domestic Short Hair - orange and white Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
ID: custard

Notes: Custard is a sweetheart! He is currently an outdoor cat taken care of by a foster mom but probably used to be a pet cat. He is very affectionate and can be very vocal too! He is waiting for a loving home. He is neutered and healthy.

He's available through the Maui Stray Rescue.

A new blog

I've decided to make a change in my weight and have started a public food diary-comments and suggestions are welcome. Figure that I need to take some ownership on what I eat and make myself feel guilty about some of the things I eat. The link is in my sidebar.

Friday's Feast

Here's this week's Friday's Feast:

Appetizer
What is your favorite fruit?
-cherries

Soup
Who is someone you consider as a great role model?

Americana Exchange Received

This is what the recipient-Pam-made for me for the Americana Exchange (the denim bag I made).

A lone

I feel like everyone has been moving ahead in their lives except for me. I thought that everything was going to work out this time but sometimes it doesn't seem like it. I'm afraid to voice my concerns, my worries, my insecurities-fear of pushing away, seeming needy. Need to talk and only want to do it with one person-the one that I could push away the most. Wish I had that magic wand to make everything better. It's frustrating for me to know that my ex has moved on with someone stupid and has plans for the future. I know that I shouldn't compare myself to him of all people but it still hurts. What is wrong with me? Was it something I did? I said? I just want to curl up in a little ball and forget the world. Either that or get stupid drunk. Thought that I was stronger than this. Maybe even the strong have their weak points and this is mine. Do you see what's happening here? I feel like I'm fighting for something that I don't know will be there. Do you appreciate what I've done? Do you see that I'm trying? Do you see that I'm trying to be there in any way that I can-friend, lover? So alone I feel. So alone.

SBQ

Here's this week's SBQ:

Today's SBQ was suggested by The Wagon
and is:

What do you love to do that many people hate? What do you hate to
do, but do anyway?

Not stitching related but I do hear that people don't like to read and I love to. As for hating...the project I was working on last night.

Screaming

I just feel like screaming. I would love to blame it on the project that I was working or the humidity but it's definitely more than that. Things were going fine and then my mood just flipped. I'm frustrated. I'm mad. I'm sad. I'm confused. I'm insecure. I don't know what to do. Call it a midlife crisis at the age of 31. I hate feeling like this.

Back to headache project

Here's the latest progress. So many color changes. Guesses?

So

Thank you to everyone for the sympathy comments regarding my grandmother. In trying to make plans to go down to Florida for the service, my father has informed me that the service is only going to be about 20 minutes at the cemetery and that it wasn't worth me flying down. So, I'm not going to the service. I'm actually glad-I don't do well at funerals and with this side of the family-we're not close and there is a lot of history between me and some of the members-stuff that I don't feel like dealing with so I guess it's a good thing that I'm not going and having to see them. So, I'm going to have tomorrow off and do my own little memorial for my grandmother since I already put in for the day.
Things seem to be going on track with something I mentioned awhile ago. Scott and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and out dinner Friday night. We both had a good time and are still discussing the movie. Yesterday we lounged around and watched a couple of movies. Today we are doing the dreaded cleaning of the apartment-not just the usual pick up of things-the deep-down scrubbing, etc. I'm not looking forward to it.

New Project

This is the start of yet another Love Quilts square. It's going to be 4 blocks of stuff-guesses permitted!

RIP

Just found out that my paternal grandmother passed away this morning. Figures that with everyone gone to my cousin's wedding she would choose to go now. She's out of pain and in a better place.

Happy Birthday

I could keep this to the 4th of July and America's celebration but more importantly to me, it's my Dad's birthday. I had to do my phone call to him a couple of days ago since he and Mom are off to Kentucky for my cousin's wedding. So Happy Birthday Dad.

New project...new headache...new game

I started this one tonight. It's another square for Love Quilts. The colors are not that great in the picture. There are so many color changes that this is going to take me longer than I think it was going to take me originally. I also kitted several other projects to start in my "rotation."

14 out of 25

Here's the final result of the seed planter that I made for my Dad for his birthday. It's already packaged and ready to be mailed out on Thursday.

Cross-stitch is done

Almost another happy dance. All I have left for this is the back-stitching and then I can send it off to my dad for his birthday which is tomorrow.

A Sweetie

As promised

Here's the latest on the Love Quilts square-it was due yesterday but I'm still going to finish it and send it in.

Sunday, July 01, 2007

The weekend

It's been an emotional roller coaster ride. Insecurities have increased. Thinking about what I really want in life needs to be my focus, not be so focused on others. I know that I don't want things to end. I do want some things to change and I can only hope that they do. I know that I have some things to work on and I will try and hope that what I'm willing to work so hard for is there at the end.
I've been doing a lot of stitching-as you saw, I finished the exchange project. I've also been doing a lot of the Love Quilt square. I'll post a picture in the morning. I made it out to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens this morning and did a little writing and walking around to try to help clear out my head. It helped a little.
