This Week's Adopt a Pet

This adorable little guy is Boysenberry and he's a Domestic Short Hair-black and white Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
ID: A022843

Notes: Boysenberry is a sweet two and a half year old cat who was rescued by our wonderful Humane Law Enforcement Officers. Understandly, based on his early beginnings, he is rather nervous at heart. Boysenberry can get startled very easily by sudden movements, unusual sounds or objects and, sometimes, by new people. After all he's been through, Boysenberry will make the perfect, loving pet for someone with a low-key household and respectful children over the age of 12. MEDICAL NOTE: Boysenberry has tested positive for the antibodies for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) - this means that he was exposed to the virus. It is not yet possible to determine if he has actually acquired the virus. However, FIV is a virus that is contagious to other cats only. It's not dangerous for people or other animals. Cats who are, in fact, FIV+ are capable of leading long and healthy lives. Anyone interested in this beautiful boy should not be concerned be discouraged because Boysenberry may have the virus. However, Boysenberry will need to be the only cat in the household! Please speak to the adoptions vet about Boysenberry.
