Friendship
What does friendship mean to you? What it means to me is to at least wish someone a happy birthday on their birthday...especially if they have done you a huge favor recently and you have several ways of contacting that person. To just ask a general how are you doing when you have a quick second at work and you are both online....all day long especially after you tell them bad details about something.
For those of you who don't know, yesterday was my birthday. So many people wished me a happy birthday...a lot of them haven't seen me in years or I never even met in person but yet someone who I've shared my hopes and dreams with, did them a huge favor, and asked ME to remain friends with them couldn't even say a freakin' happy birthday yesterday. Well, your actions or should I say lack of actions have put you where you are now. I would say good luck in your new adventures but in my eyes, I would say that to a friend, something that you have clearly shown you want no part of despite you asking me to remain your friend. You know how to contact me should you ever decide to be a friend.

Where's Ollie?
Well, I've been kinda just here. I'm feeling so much less stress now that idiot is gone. I've also been taking some supplements that my GYN gave me to up my serotonin-seems to be working.
I haven't barely done anything craft wise. I'm making a bunch of friendship bracelets for a memorial for someone who passed away last year that I went to high school with. They are having a pig roast in my hometown and since I'm not going to be able to go, I thought that making the bracelets would be something.
I've been watching lots of movies and working out on my WiiFit (thank you again Joey).
I went to the beach last weekend-couldn't resist with the 90 degree temps and bountiful sunshine.
Zeit is losing weight and I feel that the time is getting closer. The rest of the kids are good.
Everything else is pretty much status quo.

Breathing sighs of fresh air
Things are finally taking a turn for the better. I'm slightly more financially stable due to me finding some lost monies. At work, Idiot Boy is finally gone. His last day was yesterday. So it will be kinda crazy until a new person is hired but I know I'm feeling much more relaxed and happy which is saying a lot. Zeit continues to hold her own. Still taking things day by day with her.

Birthday has started a month early
My birthday isn't until May 11 but Joey decided to give me his present early-a Wii and a WiiFit. Been doing a little each day and I'm hoping that this will be some start of the motivation I need to get my ass back into gear. Thank you Joey

Happy Easter
Even though I'm not religious. Hope everyone has a safe celebration and a nice Sunday.
Dawn-Zeit is holding her own. She's still eating, drinking, wanting human affection, etc. Thank you for asking.

Halfway through my 5-day weekend
And right now, I'm pissed. I'm not going to go into details but basically it boils down to priorities, being selfish, and sealing one's friendship fate.
So today I get to go to the doctor's-nothing going on this time-just routine office visit and my cousin Denise is stopping by for a visit as she returns to Florida from Virginia. It will be good to see her as I haven't seen her since New Year's '08.

Tonight's stress
So it's 2:42 in the morning and I can't sleep. My mind is focused on Zeit. Vet reported that it is indeed kidney failure. Basically her kidneys are not taking the toxins out of her body like they are supposed to. So Zeit is trying to flush out her body by drinking so much water and is basically pissing pure water. He couldn't determine how long she has and gave me three options for treatment. 1-do nothing. 2-administer fluids at home which can be costly. 3-hospitalize her and they can administer fluids which would be even more costly. I discussed the situation with Scott and we've agreed to basically wait and see. Neither of us can afford option 2 so there is no way option 3 was going to happen. Not that I was going to do option 3 given her age. So now it's the wait and see game. Scott and I are hoping that she will just pass away in her sleep but considering that Zeit is such a pisser and character, she'll never go the way we want her to. So now I'm hoping that when I do decide to bring her in to be put down I do it at the right time-not too soon and certainly not too late.

5-Day weekend
And it started with me taking Zeitgeist to the vet...possible kidney failure. I'll know more later.

Today's Stress
I have a few intertwined with each other. I'm taking Zeitgeist, the 18-year old cat that used to be Scott's, to the vet Friday morning. She's urinating and drinking more than usual. My hope is that it's only a UTI but my fear is that it will be much more than that. I am still trying to pay off Tiger's bill from last summer when he had to have his penis removed (sorry male blog readers). I'm concerned that I'll be giving that phone call to Scott telling him that I'm having to put her down and then in the next breath, hey can you help with the bill. Of course, just entering the vet with no money for Tiger's bill and basically nothing for Zeit's either is nerve wrecking enough-"hey, I'm sorry that I still owe you over $800 from last summer but could you just put her bill on top of that and I'll try really hard to pay you something each month? Yeah, I know I haven't been living up to my end of the deal that we made for Tiger's bill but I really can't afford that $100 a month to you guys since all of the other creditors and bill collectors want their share of my money as well. So can you just tack it on?" Stressful to say the least.
Stress reliever
I feel that I need to use my blog more as a stress reliever. I've been going through so much crap and consciously I don't feel stressed but I gotta be subconsciously. I barely sleep through the night with my mind racing on all the bs that is going on in my life. So don't be surprised if you start seeing more "therapy" sessions on here.

It's Gone
My mom just gave me the news......my childhood home was closed today-officially taken over by new people. It had been part of my life for 30 years. We had actually moved into the home on my 3rd birthday...and I still remember the day we moved in. Lots of memories...and I'm in shock.

As promised
So lately, I've been enthralled in March Madness. I've been able to watch the games at work-luckily it's been slow. I'm in a pool with my family and I'm tied for last place! Oh well, I'm having fun watching the games and that is all that matters to me at this point.
Joey and I have now been living together for a year...wow! I think that we're both surprised that it's lasting this long considering that when we both met, neither one of us was looking for a serious relationship. Go figure.
Crafts-I'm still working on this HUGE latch hook. At first I didn't think that I was going to like doing it-lots of color changes-but it's turning out really nice. I've been eyeing some cross-stitch stuff that I'll probably work on soon for gifts.
Work....sigh...so many changes are going to be happening soon. My office will be changing. Some of my coworkers are looking for greener pastures. I only wish that the one who needs to leave would just leave. There has been no progress on their part in being more efficient in their role and not having the rest of us have to redo what they did in order for it to be right and make sense. So my unit is only 4 people. This one person NEEDS to leave. And the other two are looking for the greener pastures...leaving me as the senior person...and I've only been there since October...and I still have questions about things. With my role, things change on almost a daily basis-new rules, new ways of trying to make sure that the State money goes to the right people, etc. Can be very frustrating and overwhelming at times. That's probably a huge reason why I cannot get physically healthy lately. I'm trying to take everything in stride but it is hard. I have no energy to look for another job yet alone even a part-time job to help cover some of the bills. So I'm trying to hang on by a thread.
Cats-well, it is just another stress in trying to keep Zeitgeist safe from the others. She spends most of her time on the floor surrounded by boxes of stuff that have never been unpacked. If I take her out, she'll spend some time with me. She continues to be a fiend for human affection-calling out to me and Joey if she wants attention. She continues to eat and drink but just to look at her, you know she is just so old. All I can do is just try to give her as much love and affection that I can. The others are still the same-crazy little characters!
I've had a little increase in my reading. I'm averaging about one book a week. Far from the several that I used to be able to finish back in NYC. Only sometimes do I actually miss NYC!.

So where have I been?
Well, it's been one stress after another. To make it all really quick....Zeitgeist got attached by Tiger a few nights ago and yesterday was acting really strange before I left for work. I fear that the time is coming soon for her crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
Work is work-nothing at all has changed there in regards to my coworker...sigh.
Joey is finishing up his first year at his school and is stressing about a huge project that is due soon.
My physical ailments...if it's not one thing, it's another. Now I seem to be having hives-broke out Wednesday and every day there is a new scratching post on my body. Annoying to say the least.
Crafts-been working on a huge latch hook. Haven't done any cross-stitching in a while.
Movies-check out what I've been watching on my movie blog (listed in sidebar).
Reading-always can see my thoughts on my book blog (listed in sidebar).
I promise that I will post a more detailed blog soon....I swear! I just gotta get to the pharmacy now and pick up drugs....damn itching!

Really Stupid People
So I'm driving into work this morning. Moderate to heavy traffic on a 2-lane highway where I'm averaging the speed limit or a little above when some dumb ass bitch in a suit behind me starts flashing her lights. I ignored her the first time as there is no place to go and I have cars in front of me so I can't speed up for her pretentious behind. So then, she flashes me again. I throw my hands in the air like what do you want. She starts waving for me to go faster or move out of her way. Um...dumb bitch, I have a black Jeep in front of me and cars right next to me. Where the fuck do you expect me to go? Bear in mind, I'm going the damn speed limit and over it. So eventually, like I usually do, I get into the right hand lane near my exit when it's safe and then the bitch starts following me because I'm passing cars on my left. Wow....me passing cars because I'm going the speed limit or above in traffic!!!! So eventually this woman passes me because the traffic in front of me has slowed down-maybe because the speed reduced-and she starts waving her arms at me as she passes. What an idiot. So I then had the pleasure of watching her try to weave in and out of traffic. I'm almost hoping that she got into an accident so she'll learn her lesson. Geesh, some people!

Zeitgeist's First Full Day in NC
So Zeit and the rest of us survived the first day. Most of the day she spent hiding in between some boxes. But, when she came out, everyone was aware of it. Hissing at everyone. Talking to me. Not sure what she wanted other than to make herself be known. Doesn't help that when she's hissing at everyone, the others try talking with her in their whining tones. Sigh...makes it difficult to try to sleep. I know that Zeit isn't happy. She looks outside like she wants to be out. She's never fully gotten along with other cats. I'm just hoping that this all calms down sooner than later.

I survived the emotional weekend
I made it to NYC and back. Took me 9 hours to get to Scott's thanks to NYC traffic on Staten Island-I was very quickly reminded why I don't live there anymore. Scott and I talked and went out for Mexican. It was difficult to see him again after all this time. I know that it was difficult for him as well considering the reason why I was there. There were several times where I couldn't even look at him because I knew that I would just break down. But Zeitgeist was very happy to see me-not sure if it was because she remembered who I was or if it was just because I was a human who would give her attention.
I met up with Jeremy-the ex-husband-and we spoke for a while about how our lives are not going as well as we would like. It was nice to talk with him again. That was always one thing we did well.
I then met up with Jerome-an ex-to go out for some Indian food.
Then it was back to Scott's for me to sleep and leave at stupid early yesterday morning. Took me 8 hours to get back home with Zeit. And then to deal with all the cats! So far everyone is keeping their distance from Zeit. It helps that she attempts to hiss but sounds more like a hacking cough whenever one of them comes even a little bit close. She seems to appreciate that she can see the outside from the couch. There's only been one swatting episode between Suzie and Zeit. I'm hoping that will be all. So my mission today is to relax and get the couple of errands that I need to do done quickly.

Bad Blogger
Sorry for disappearing for over a week. Lots of things are happening. One...I'm still trying to get over whatever physical ailment decides to hit me. Seems like every week it's something new.
Two-I'm heading to NYC this weekend and I'm not really looking forward to it. I'll be seeing Scott. Yes, the ex that broke my heart. Crazy? Possibly. He's moving in with his fiancee and cannot bring his 18-year old cat Zeitgeist. He asked me if I would take her in as he knows how much I love that silly cat if he couldn't find someone local to take her. So now I get to drive 9 hours up, spend the night, and drive 9 hours back down. It's going to be pretty emotional for me and for him as well. Of course, for different reasons. I probably will be going out to dinner with my friend Jerome-still trying to figure out where I want to go.
Three-I do have some happy dances that I can share-but of course the pictures are not on this computer. I'll post them as soon as I can.

Simply put...I've been sick. With a fever that went up to 102.6, sore throat, sinus issues, etc. I'm still not 100% but certainly better than what I was.

I Met Tori Amos
Ok...so it was in my dream...a very very vivid dream. I've been going through a lot of stress about money, life, and the pursuit of happiness (just like most everyone else out there) and I've always been able to find strength in Tori's music, in particular one song-Jackie's Strength. It happened to be the song that Tori was singing when I met her in my dream. So I'm thinking that's just my subconscious mind telling me not to worry so much and everything will work out.

Christmas in January
Yesterday, after many attempts in scheduling, I was able to use the gift certifcate that Joey got me for a massage and facial. It was wonderful and very relaxing. It was done at a local school and I had students for both. I enjoyed the massage more than the facial. Not a big surprise really. So a big thank you to Joey!

Seasons of Love
Saw the musical Rent last night for my 5th or 6th time. Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp, the original Roger and Mark, were part of this touring production. I've seen Adam in a couple of other productions, such as Aida, and both were fantastic. The woman who played Mimi was the best that I have seen to date. It was a great show and I highly recommend everyone to check it when they can.

Irony? Karma? You decide
So, it's the coldest night in years for North Carolina and our apartment's complex's power goes out at around 5am. Sigh. Luckily it was only out for a couple of hours but it still got really cold inside.
