Life Updated

Been a while...first...today's is the day that Scott is getting married. And my thoughts have ranged from sadness to craziness-anyone want to go to NYC and crash it? I do have to say that I have been VERY tempted to go up there this weekend and clearly tell him and Amy the mistake that they are making but I'm better than that. As much as I want Scott to be happy, I don't think that he will be with the decisions he has been making over the past year or so. But it isn't my problem anymore and that is something that I'm still struggling with. Especially when I hear about their wedding and future plans-all which are VERY similar to what Scott and I had discussed. The more I try to move on, it seems the harder something keeps me from doing so.
Joey has been doing fantastic with his new band: Rockshow. The guys definitely appreciate having him as their drummer and he's having fun playing music on a more regular basis. This fact alone has made living together a helluva lot easier lately.
I have the pleasure of having to take my car in today to get it looked at. Seems that oil is leaking onto one of the spark plugs. Not good. Hopefully it's not going to cost me an arm and a leg.
Work has been miserable. We started using a new software program that we were all told that it was going to be better than the old system...well it sucks. Compared to the amount of work that I had to do before, I'm now doing about 5% more. And when the phones get busy, a lot of things are being forgotten. The software doesn't flow correctly and we're constantly being told to wait and it will be fixed. Well, I've almost quit my job a few times...and not just because of the software. One coworker is constantly trying to push my buttons and little does he realize the more that he keeps doing it, the worse it's going to be for him. And I have another coworker (not in my direct unit) that thinks that the world revolves around her and that we're supposed to drop everything to help her...uh no bitch. We're still not fully staffed which means a lot of calls fall upon yours truly because I'm the quickest in the unit-the other two take twice the amount of time that the screenings are supposed to take....which pisses me off and has been addressed but on deaf ears.
I'm still grieving over the loss of Zeit. The others spend a lot of time trying to get on my lap and go to sleep which is comforting...if not annoying when I'm trying to do some latch hook or something.
NFL is back and I can now spend my Sundays wasting away watching the games instead of from watching movies from Netflix.
I think that's about it in a nutshell...until next time.

Labor Day weekend vacation

I went camping this past weekend with my parents, brother and aunt and uncle from Florida. We headed out to a small mountain town called Baslam here in NC. I, of course, was the first to arrive and had to wait around for about an hour before my parents came...good thing I had a book to read. The campsite was small and the sites small for huge mobile homes like my parents. Couldn't even park a car on the site. Bad sleeping experiences-I ended up spending the last two nights in my dad's van to sleep-too much snoring both human and canine. Friday everyone arrived and we all had dinner together.
Saturday we headed to Cherokee Reservation where I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for more authentic reservation stuff but it was essentially a tourist trap. We did hang out and look through a craft co-op store and some of the others stores along the way. I bought a pair of beaded earrings to help support. We did NOT hit the Casino and we all were perfectly fine with it.
Sunday we headed to Hendersonville for their huge Apple Festival-essentially it's a huge street fair through downtown. It's good to know that my hatred of crowds is still intact....no plans for NYC anytime soon.
Monday we had no real plans except the boys took a look at my car...luckily it seems that it's only the spark plugs that's an issue. My parents and aunt and uncle were going to continue camping the rest of this week while my brother and I were headed back home and to work. So we spent the rest of the afternoon traveling to other campsites for them to stay at.
Overall it was a much needed break and despite my allergies or cold or whatever I got from there, I'm glad I went.

RIP Zeitgeist

You lived a very long life and in lots of different environments. You have bought me great joy over the past 4 years (even when I didn't see you) and I'm grateful that I got to spend your last six months with you. You talked until your last breath and I know that you are no longer suffering. Have fun hissing at the other cats over that Rainbow Bridge and I'll see you again. I love you Zeit.

Update on Zeit

I took her in yesterday. She walked around the exroom-something that she's never done before or even does here. Everyone said that she was moving well for an 18-year old cat. They took some bloodwork and they should let me know what the options are hopefully tomorrow.

Time is getting really close

Zeit had a seizure or stroke last night...and I witnessed it. I'm wondering if she's been having them the last few days since her water bowl was all yucky after last night's episode and I've seen her water bowl like that in the mornings the last couple of days. I have an appointment with the vet Saturday morning. Not sure what they'll be able to do so....

Joey's First Gig

So Joey has joined a cover band called Rockshow and had his first gig with them this past Saturday. This band has been together for a while and have auditioned several drummers since their original one had to leave. Joey did a fantastic job and it was very obvious that the band was happy. I'm very proud of him and how well he did.

Michael Vick

I have tried and tried to remain calm about this whole issue. For anyone who knows me, they know I LOVE the NFL and dogs. Now normally these two things would not go together unless you're talking about the Dogpound for the Cleveland Browns...however thanks to the asshole Michael Vick, these two things have been brought together and not in the best of ways. For anyone living under a rock in the US or out of the US, Michael Vick, one of the better quarterbacks in the league was arrested for dogfighting a couple of years ago. He "did his time" and now has the opportunity to come back and play for a NFL team. He does NOT deserve to come back and play. Just because he served a jail sentence does not bring back all the dogs that died or got injured because of his stupidity. We all know damn good and well that if he had not gotten caught, he would have continued the slaughter and training. Some will say that it was because he was young and immature....bullshit. Put yourself in that ring Michael and see how it feels to be mauled by a dog that is trained to kill....in fact just fucking do it instead of playing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
My opinion is that NO ONE should be given another chance to play in such a high adrenaline driven sport like football if you have been convicted of a "violent" crime-that includes shooting yourself in the leg, dog fighting, DUI, attempted murder, etc. For the fact that the commissioner might possibly give him another chance is fucking beyond me....he's remorseful...bullshit....he got fucking caught and NEVER would have stopped if he didn't get caught and had his so called friends turn him in to save their own hinds.
So let me go back to the fact that the Eagles have signed him....I'm also a huge Donovan McNabb fan...goes back to when he played for Syracuse. The fact that Michael Vick is now on that team and what I heard McNabb say (among the others at that bullshit conference) makes me not a fan anymore....at least until Michael Vick is out of the league. So I won't be wearing that nice jersey that Scott gave me even though it's from Syracuse. I probably won't be wasting my life away watching NFL on Sunday afternoons all because I need to make a point: MICHAEL VICK DOES NOT DESERVE TO COME BACK AND PLAY AFTER WHAT HE DID. So expect some letters Philadelphia and the commissioner because you guys really fucked up this time.

Unhappiness

That's basically how I've been feeling lately. Not everything in my life is going poorly either. I do have a stable job which is crucial with the way that the world is at this time. I have some decent friends who are there if and when I need them. However, my financial situation continues to suck and I can't find a part-time job to help me out. I don't have enough money to even attempt to play the lottery. My relationship with Joey is basically just a strong friendship. He does his thing. I do mine. And that's fine. I'm figuring that come March, we will no longer be living together unless we both are continuing to struggle financially. I've come across a lot of what if's out there and even though I try REALLY hard to try not to think about them, they still keep coming up. They range from relationships/friendships to if I had never even moved to NC. And trying to fathom the idea of where the hell I'm going come March is making me feel anxious.
Life as an adult sucks sometimes but I'm also one of those people that NEVER EVER want to go back to childhood or adolescence. I don't have a life full of regrets. Just some what if's and unhappiness.

Tori Amos

Joey and I went to Tori Amos' show last night in Durham. This is probably the 5th or 6th time I've seen her live. She played a lot of songs from her new album. It was overall a decent show. My problem....it was too short. Her opening act played for a half hour-which I was fine with. But she only played for an hour and a half. And didn't even play "Crucify." But she did play "Precious Things" which has my all time favorite line in it. So overall a decent show but I have seen better shows of hers.

4-day weekend and a Happy Dance

I'm back to work after a 4-day weekend. And man was it hard to come back. I actually did go and do something-met up with a friend from Camp-Herb. We worked together 14 years ago...we were both feeling old while talking about old Camp memories. I had a great time.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing and I have a happy dance to announce. I finally finished the huge latch hook that I was working on. And of course I can't find my camera to take a picture of it. But it's probably about 4 feet by 5 feet...HUGE!!!!!

2 Years Ago Today

My world was completely turned upside down. Even though it doesn't quite feel like it happened yesterday, I still do a lot of reflection on what happened two years ago. It's when Scott and I broke up. And to know that he's getting married in 2 months doesn't help the pain that I STILL continue to feel. The pain certainly isn't as bad as it was and I'm definitely over the part of wanting him back. But to know that the dreams that we shared are now coming true only for him hurts. And to know that my hypothesis of why things are happening is probably true (as confirmed by others) makes me feel sad for the future of others. But life goes on and I certainly am a helluva lot stronger than I was before because of what happened.

Michael Jackson

Is anyone else out there as sick as I am about all the damn hoopla and media attention this person's death has created? I understand, King of Pop and all that but come on folks. Enough is enough. Yes, he was this generation's Elvis but this whole mayhem is beyond crazy. If he had passed away back in the 80's when his music had reached it's peak, I could completely understand the craziness that has been occurring but it happened 20 years later. When he wasn't producing any new music. Hadn't been on tour in years. After he got caught up in settling with families regarding allegations instead of fighting for his innocence that he claimed. Got caught up in the weirdness of his life-whether it be by having his kids, plastic surgery, etc. I'm so hoping that after today's memorial things quiet down. There are so many other important things going on in this world that it should not be caught up in the Michael Jackson mayhem anymore.

Long Weekend

Well, my weekend was supposed to be a 4-day weekend but due to my coworker having no voice, I'm here today. Not thrilled but all I was going to do was sit around home anyway so....at least here I can be productive. Hope that everyone had a good weekend.

Tiger Update

Tiger seems to be on the mend. He slept with me for about 4-5 hours last night-hogging my side of the bed cuddled with me. He wanted to eat and did eat and drink this morning. He was more lively than he was yesterday. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

RIP Daisy

Daisy was my aunt and uncle's German Shepherd. My cousin just informed me that she was put down this morning. She had been in a lot of pain. I have a lot of fond memories of that pup but know that she's in a much better place. Love you Daisy.

Updates

Well, life is constantly changing. My uncle is still holding on. We, of course, have the deaths of Ed McMahan, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and Billy Mays recently. My friend at work has a new position which makes me now the senior person in my unit...gulp. I'm truly happy for her as my job is not the best suited for her but this new one is.
All the cats seem to be holding there own even though Tiger has been vomiting since last night-I'm basically keeping an eye on him since I cannot afford to bring him to the vet. Zeit is venturing out more than just staying in her sanctuary. And Suzie and Boots are Suzie and Boots.
I'm hoping to get more done on that enormous latch hook today. And I'm still trying to figure out what to make my family for Christmas.
There's been talk about camping for Labor Day weekend. I haven't been camping in years and have been wanting to go for a while now.
I'm still considering returning back to school but can't even afford the application fee-sigh. When will I ever get back on my feet?

World War III anyone?

So anyone else think that we are headed for another World War? We already have the war going on in the Middle East that certainly isn't going to end anytime soon. And now we have North Korea with their determination to create missiles to hit the US and other countries. With all the economic woes in the world, I'm actually not surprised that this crap is happening. Just wish that people would get along and realize that NO ONE is more powerful than someone else.

This week

Has been hell. So many deaths. So many hospital stuff. It's been crazy. A couple of my coworkers lost family members. My former supervisor had to put down her cat. My cousin had to have surgery to remove a kidney stone. My uncle went into hospice yesterday. My friend Tracy's mother has been in and out of the hospital. Joey's grandmother has been in ICU. And one of my dear friends passed away. Talk about things going in 3's...try 7's, 8's, 9's.
Luckily, my kids are doing okay. My immediate family is okay. I'm doing okay despite all the stress just sitting on my upper back and I can't seem to relieve it. The new people at work are working out. The transition to a new supervisor seems to be going fine. My work schedule is back to 4 day weeks. Joey is playing music again.
I'm just hoping that this too shall pass.

Blogging Part Deux

Thank you for the comments that some of you have shared. I appreciate them. This blog has always been about my interpretation of my life-some of it positive, some of it negative, lots of it involving animals :)
For some who do not know me outside of this blog, I can see how/why people's perceptions of me are WAY off. And that's okay. This blog is only one part of who I am.
I've decided that I'm not going to kill the blog just yet. I like having my collection of cuties and I do enjoy looking at the past several years and seeing where I've been and where I am presently.

Blogging

To blog or to not blog...that's what I've been facing lately. When I started this blog a couple of years ago, I was in, what I thought, a much more secure time of my life. I started this when I was with Scott and because he had a blog of his own. I thought that it would be interesting to journal my life for the world to see. And then I started using this blog as documentation of my craft projects. Now, I'm financially beyond broke and who isn't these days? I'm not working on craft projects. My relationship with Joey isn't always the greatest. My cats' health is up and down day by day. Work is forever changing.
I feel that I've been more using this as a place to document cute pictures of dogs and not much else. Not enjoyable for everyone out there and I know that. So I guess I'm wondering if I should continue. So I ask the couple of faithful viewers to let me know your thoughts. I will not publish your comments but would appreciate to hear what you think and what you would like to read about me. I still have my book and movie blogs which I update on a regular basis. Since I haven't been finishing any crafts, my blog for selling is kinda in limbo-not that anyone ever asked for anything anyway.
